Project Description

At the time of installation the new Philips Gemini TF PET-CT scanner was one of only six in Ontario and the only one in the Northern Ontario that can detect cancer more precisely and assist in treatment planning.

Tom Jones Corporation, as General Contractor, completed minor demolition to an existing room within the functioning Hospital facility. Installation of Lead Shielding was an integral part of construction. Mechanical and Electrical works were coordinated with sub-contractors and suppliers of the unique equipment. Architectural finishes completed by own forces as well as several subcontractors.

All construction was performed in an operational Hospital setting with attention to Health and Safety, Infection Control Procedures, and minimizing disruption to workers and patients in adjacent work areas.
