Project Description

The Aviation Centre of Excellence (ACE) is a world class facility that was designed to be home for the Confederation College Aviation Department. The College determined that creating a new facility would create one cohesive unit, where students from all three programs would have access to new equipment and facilities, and encourage interaction between disciplines.

This 59,000 sqft comprehensive facility located at the Thunder Bay International Airport houses classroom and academic departments, in addition to shops and hangers for hands on training. Materials and architectural details are streamlined and flowing, with circulation patterns reflecting the movement of wind.

Tom Jones Corporation was the General Contractor on this project and worked closely with Confederation College, KSGM Architects, and our sub trades to complete this project and have the facilities operational for the beginning of the 2003 school year.
